2. What personal information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect your name, contact details, enquiry and booking information, vehicle details and photographs, service and payment records, and the messages you send us.
When you visit this website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address and request logs. We do not intentionally collect more personal information than we need.
3. Why we use it and the lawful basis
We use information to answer enquiries and give quotations, arrange and carry out detailing work, provide customer support and aftercare, keep appropriate business records, handle payments and meet legal requirements.
We rely on contractual necessity (or steps you ask us to take before a contract), legal obligations, and our legitimate interests where relevant. Where consent is needed for an optional activity, we will ask for it separately.
4. Cookies
This website does not use cookies, advertising or tracking technologies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused tool that does not use cookies or identify individual visitors, to see aggregate visit counts and page performance. Our fonts and images are served from our own website rather than third-party services. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide any consent controls required by law.
5. Vehicle photographs, videos and Storystone
We may take photographs or videos of vehicles to record their condition, the work carried out and the vehicle’s history.
Where you choose to use a Storystone Vehicle Story, photographs and videos submitted to that service are stored and managed through the Storystone platform, not on this website. Storystone may provide separate privacy information and terms for that service.
Copyright in a photograph or video stays with its owner. Anyone who submits media confirms that they own it or have permission to share it, and grants the permissions needed for it to be stored, processed, displayed and shared with people authorised to view the relevant vehicle story. Submitting media does not transfer copyright to Extreme Detailing Limited or Storystone.
Permission to include media in a vehicle story is not permission to use it in public advertising, social media or other marketing. Where we would like to use media in that way, we will ask separately. If you have a concern about a photograph or would like it removed, please contact us; we will consider any request in line with your rights, our legal obligations and the platform arrangements.
6. Sharing information
We may share relevant information with service providers who help us with website hosting, business communications, payment handling and vehicle story functionality. We do not sell customer personal information.
Where Storystone processes personal information for a Vehicle Story, the responsibilities and data protection arrangements depend on the service provided and are explained in Storystone’s own privacy information.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including customer service, accounting, resolving disputes and meeting legal obligations. How long depends on the type of record. Media held on Storystone is subject to that service’s retention rules. Contact us if you would like to know about particular records.
8. Security and international transfers
We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect information. Some service providers, including our hosting provider, may handle data outside the UK; where required, we use or require appropriate safeguards for those transfers. No internet-based service can guarantee complete security.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or transfer your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise a right, contact us at sales@extremedetailing.co.uk.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
10. Other websites and updates
This website links to third-party services, including WhatsApp, social media and Storystone. Their own privacy information applies when you use them. We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change; the latest version will always be on this page.
